Staying physically active has always been an important part of my life. I first began a consistent practice of yoga while I was in university, and the physical benefits of the practice are what initially drew me to it. However, as I continued to practice yoga, I discovered so much more than a workout! I found an outlet for stress and a method for calming my busy thoughts. Yoga has become a sanctuary for me; it has helped me to become more present in the moment and has provided me with tools for self-reflection and discovery of my true self. Although my journey with yoga did not begin until I was already in university, I have seen first-hand the tremendous benefits that it has for children and youth! The practice of yoga contributes to the development of physical, mental, and emotional strength and wellness; and the cool thing is that it can be started at any age.
After graduating from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor’s Degree in Development Studies, I completed my 50-Hour Kids Yoga Teacher Training, as well as my 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training. My passion for holistic wellness, and love of working with kids and youth, has easily translated into a career of teaching. In addition to teaching yoga, I also am also a Program Coordinator and Coach of gymnastics. I am so excited to be a part of the Wymbin team, and to have the opportunity to share my passion for yoga with my students in each of my classes!
